Coral Hat - Crochet Pattern

The Coral Hat came about out of mere experimentation with mohair yarn, mesh design, and
playing around with ruffles!

It’s a unique, almost-decorative hat, worked from the top-down. Its design features a base
of mesh (worked first), and then the added ruffles to create dimension. 

Using light worsted/DK weight [3] cotton yarn for the base is recommended, although
not necessary, to achieve the best shape and fit. The mohair brings out the soft, brushed,
fullness to the ruffles. You will approximately need 25 gr/50 yrd of the cotton yarn, 1-2 balls
of 25 gr/200 m of the main lace weight [0] mohair yarn, and around 5 grams of the contrast color mohair.

The hooks required for creating this piece are:
a 5.0 mm [H], a 6.0 mm [J], and a 9.0 mm [N]

Each will play a different role in the construction of the piece.

The hat comes in three sizes: 1) S, 2) M, 3) L measuring 1) 20-21 in , 2) 21-22 in, 1) 22-23 inches
in circumference approximately. However, due to the nature of the design, it is relatively
stretchy and is set to fit different heads comfortably.
